Welcome to Ditcheat Primary School

Welcome to Ditcheat County Primary School. Our school is hidden away in the quiet and pretty village of Ditcheat, which is between the small Somerset towns of Shepton Mallet, Castle Cary and Evercreech and close to the Bath and West showground.

Our school ethos and aims are summed up in our vision statement
"Learning together to achieve our best"
For us this means working with the children to achieve the best we can in all aspects of the curriculum and in all aspects of school life. At the same time we aim to have lots of fun and to make school a really enjoyable experience.
We were delighted with our recent Ofsted report (May 07) which recognised the school as a good school in all areas (there is only one higher category). The report can be read at http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/reports/

We have approximately 90 children on roll at the moment split between 4 classes.
Year 5 and 6 in Willow Class, Years 3 and 4 in Maple Class, Year 2 and half of Year 1 in Sycamore and half of Year 1 and reception in Cherry Class.
We are very fortunate that we are able to keep our class sizes fairly small (approx 19 in our 2 youngest classes and mid -20s in our 2 older classes).
