Welcome to Ditcheat Primary School

Welcome to Ditcheat Primary School. Our school is hidden away in the quiet and pretty village of Ditcheat, which is between the small Somerset towns of Shepton Mallet, Castle Cary and Evercreech and close to the Bath and West showground.

Our school ethos and aims are summed up in our vision statement "Learning together to achieve our best." For us this means working with the children to achieve the best we can in all aspects of the curriculum and school life. At the same time we aim to have lots of fun and to make school a really enjoyable experience.

Our last Ofsted report (May 07) recognised the school as a good school in all areas (there is only one higher category). The report can be read at http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/reports/

 

The strength of our work, in including all learners, has been recognised by I CAN, with their Primary Talk accreditaion and also by a Dyslexia Friendly Schools award.

We have approximately 84 children on roll at the moment split between 3 classes. Year 5, 6 and Year 4s in Willow Class, Years 2 and 3 in Maple Class, Year 1 and reception in Cherry Class. We are very fortunate to have a number of teaching assistants who work with us to support the children's learning and lots of space which enables us to be flexible about groupings and activities.
